Paragon conducts a 360 AVL overhaul for Missouri church
Located in Missouri, First Baptist Church Branson (FBC) has recently undergone an extensive expansion and renovation, including a large overhaul of AVL systems which have been provided by Paragon 360. With architectural services supplied by Paragon partner, Torgerson Design Partners, the project included renovation of the main sanctuary space, a new atrium addition and outdoor seating areas.
Paragon noted specific challenges posed to the project, including in the main sanctuary which featured extensive structural and sightline limitations, significantly impacting the design. Furthermore, FBC had an extensive amount of pre-existing, owner-furnished equipment that had to be worked into the design.
In the main worship space, the audio solution incorporates the church’s existing Allen & Heath ecosystem with a new Martin Audio line array setup, with Dante primary/secondary and QSC core technology tying everything together for campus-wide control. Paragon also installed a Revelux StoryGlass LED wall, as well as two 14-inch-wide projection screens, with Panasonic 12,000-lumen laser projectors for IMAG, confidence monitors and Canon camera systems. In terms of lighting, the space now features both Chauvet Ovation and Prolights LED fixtures, ETC relay panels and distribution by ETC and Ace Backstage. The installation also incorporated Chroma-Q LED house lighting fixtures and custom rigging.
Bringing the back of the church to life, FBC’s new atrium comprises a solution of distributed audio and video systems tied back to the sanctuary’s existing control room. Over 20 JBL compact, full-range pendant speakers were installed, alongside six 82-inch LED displays for signage, and a Clear-Com system. The broadcast room now features an Allen & Heath 48-channel console along with studio monitors, custom racks and Lyntec panels, with additional systems installed in the “kids space” and the Well.
“I can’t say thank you enough to the Paragon team,” commented Gerry Davis, technical director at FBC Branson. “I was overjoyed seeing it all done. I was truly beside myself with appreciation for the Paragon team.”
