In a bid to align the display technology offerings of Sharp and NEC under the umbrella of Sharp Corporation of Australia, Sharp Corporation of Australia has unified its product lines with NEC Display Solutions. The agreement aims to leverage the combined strengths of Sharp and NEC, incorporating NEC's esteemed line of display solutions within the expanded portfolio of Sharp Corporation of Australia. The company says the integration gives clients and partners of both companies access to an expanded suite of products and an enhanced service model. All existing product support, warranty and service agreements remain in effect.

Following this announcement, the company has presented the MultiSync ME Series, which including models PN-ME432, PN-ME502, PN-ME552 and PN-ME652, and for which it claims sets a new benchmark for presentation and signage solutions across the retail, education and corporate sectors.

The series integrates system-on-chip architecture with an Android-based operating system, an updated OSD design and a platform for CMS integration for use in digital signage applications. Key characteristics of the displays include USB-C connectivity, onboard media playback capabilities, an adaptive ambient light senso, and input detect functionality. According to the manufacturer, the introduction of high haze, anti-reflective panels and a full metal chassis design indicates that its taking a decisive step forward in developing commercial-grade solutions.
