Satin AV provides smooth audio upgrade for Dubai church

St Mary’s Church has upgraded its audio system with a solution from Bose Professional and Shure, distributed by NMK Electronics and integrated by Satin AV. Located in Dubai, the church is known for its diverse congregation and is one of the largest places of worship in the GCC in terms of weekly attendance.

Satin AV integrated an assortment of Bose’s audio products including eight units of Panaray MSA12X modular steerable array loudspeakers. These self-powered digital beam-steering devices feature 12 2.25-inch full-range transducers and a frequency range of 58–18kHz. Their proprietary articulated array transducer configuration offers 160° horizontal coverage, which was utilised to provide sound dispersion throughout the church.

In addition to the MSA12X, Satin AV incorporated three units of Bose’s AMS115 multipurpose subwoofer which is equipped with a 15-inch neodymium transducer to provide low frequencies down to 35Hz. As well as this, 28 pairs of Bose Professional DesignMax DM6SE surface-mounted loudspeakers were installed in the outdoor setting. Satin AV elected to use the DM6SEs due to their IP55 outdoor rating and QuickHold U-bracket which reportedly provided a smooth and easy setup. Additionally, two units of PM8500N, five units of PA300A and EX-1280C amplifiers were installed.

For choirs, announcements and podium speeches in the church, a combination of Shure MX418D, MX418S/C and MX202B/C gooseneck microphones have been installed to go alongside the Shure SLXD system with handheld transmitters.
