Extron addresses flexibility with mixed impedance and power amplifier series
Extron has introduced the XPA Ultra FX Series of eight– and four-channel multizone audio power amplifiers. The series allows for a single unit to be set up in a variety of configurations to support large systems with multiple speaker types, can simultaneously drive 8Ω, 4Ω, 70V and 100V loads and are configurable per channel.
Each channel of an adjacent pair dynamically draws power from the pair's total wattage, delivering optimal power where it's needed according to system requirements. XPA Ultra FX amplifiers feature Extron’s InstaWake+ technology, providing the ability to return to full power from standby in under 5ms. This ensures no part of the audio is cut off. With an appealing new design, the fan-cooled enclosure can be part of a high-tech aesthetic or hidden away in a rack, without requiring adjacent empty space for ventilation. Offering 200w per-channel, the XPA U 2008 FX eight-channel amplifier and XPA U 2004 FX four-channel amplifier are intended to be go-to solutions for any multizone applications requiring mixed speaker impedances and power levels.
In the video realm, the company launched a new three-input twisted pair transmitter for sending USB-C video, HDMI and control up to 100m over a shielded CAT6A cable. The DTP3 T transmitter supports 4K/60 4:4:4 signals and is HDCP 2.3 compliant 203. To maximise image quality and eliminate latency, all supported video resolutions are transported without compression.
Capabilities such as 60W of USB-C charging, dual buffered HDMI and DTP outputs, contact closure with tally output, and Ethernet remote control facilitate integration in professional environments. Integrator-friendly features include EDID management, auto-switching between inputs, and bidirectional RS-232 pass-through for control of remote AV devices. The DTP3 T 203 provides switching and transmission of USB-C and HDMI video at data rates up to 18Gbps. In addition to enabling uncompressed extension of video, it supports HDR, Deep Colour up to 12-bit, 3D, embedded HD lossless audio formats and CEC.
The transmitter is compatible with Show Me cables, which provide connectivity and user input selection and control for TeamWork Collaboration Systems. It also benefits from include simultaneous transmission of bidirectional RS-232 signals from a control system for AV device control and Extron’s EDID Minder technology, which ensures connected sources power up properly and reliably output content for display. Furthermore, the DTP3 output can be configured to send video and embedded audio, plus control, to an HDBaseT-enabled display.
In addition to the these two new arrivals, the company has recently announced that the GPO NEX-series of videowall displays has joined the Extron Quantum Ultra Certification programme. When coupled with Extron Quantum Ultra and Quantum Ultra II 8K Videowall Processors, select display models in the series have been certified for consistent, stable presentation of source content are now identified as “Quantum Ultra Certified”. GPO models currently certified include the 49-inch and 55-inch NEX-series LCD Videowall Displays, which are also TAA compliant.
