RCF’s latest Q 15 power point displayed
Primarily designed for mid- to long-throw applications demanding accurate speech and music reproduction, RCF has launched a compact, point source loudspeaker. The two-way Q 15 combines an RCF precision 15-inch neodymium woofer with an ND940 4-inch voice coil and a 4-inch titanium-neodymium compression driver. Operating within a frequency range of 45Hz–20kHz (–10dB), the biamp module registers a 1,500W AES power rating that can produce a maximum output of 138dB SPL.
Component positioning of the Q Series and the ability to rotate the cabinet in any position promotes horizontal or vertical deployment. The trapezoidal nature of the enclosure provides a 22.5° coupling angle on each side, with a horizontal coverage angle proportionally equal to the sum of the enclosures in the array. Three variations of the Q 15 are available, offering varying vertical directivity in the form of the Q 15-P (40°), Q 15 (60°) or Q 15-L (90°) models. Typical applications span from point source configurations for mid-distance events to clusters of up to eight modules for long-throw applications.
Housed in multi-ply Baltic birch plywood with internal structural metal bracings and finished in a textured, black polyurea paint with an epoxy-coated grille, the Q 15 comprises two rear-panel Neutrik speakON NL4 connections. Weighing 55kg and measuring 860mm x 446mm x 590mm (HxWxD), the water-resistant cabinet features two handles and multiple M10 suspension points on both sides. Optional rigging accessories include two fly bars for horizontal (up to four) and vertical placement (up to six or eight), stainless-steel plates for rigging and –10° spacing to decrease the coverage angle for long-throw applications.
