Music Tribe acquires Aston Microphones
Music Tribe has added microphones to its portfolio of brands with the acquisition of British manufacturer Aston Microphones. Having been “continuously pursuing” a microphone brand that complements its existing mixing console, processing, amplification and loudspeaker products, Music Tribe’s acquisition of Aston allows it to offer end-to-end solutions for touring and install applications, as well as allow Aston to grow more quickly.
“Music Tribe’s vision is solely based on customer and digital obsession, which means offering end-to-end customer solutions. Since the acquisition of Midas, Klark Teknik, Lab Gruppen, Lake, Tannoy and Turbosound, we have been continuously pursuing a microphone brand that complements the mixing console, processing, amplification and loudspeaker excellence offered by these historic brands,” commented Music Tribe founder and CEO, Uli Behringer. “Throughout our search, Aston Microphones has clearly stood out as the ideal match because of their world-class brand, leading innovation and first-class team of people.”
The founder says that the group will invest heavily in positioning Aston at the top of the industry and that the Aston team will now also have full access to Music Tribe’s resources and automated system platforms, in areas such as product engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and finance.
“Aston Microphones has been a phenomenal success story since our launch only five years ago, with a host of international awards, including the coveted NAMM TEC Award for Best Mic 2020,” added Aston Microphones CEO, James Young. “In this time, we’ve established our brand as a world leader in innovation, bringing high-end and professional products to our family of customers, all at affordable prices. The synergy with Music Tribe’s existing brand portfolio is exceptional, and the huge resource in R&D, manufacturing and engineering excellence we now have at our disposal will allow us, together, to set a bar to which other brands can only aspire.”
The Aston team will continue to operate from its Hertfordshire headquarters, combining its marketing, product development and customer and artist relationships with Music Tribe’s resources and infrastructure.
