Simon Harris joins Observatory to expand global footprint
Simon Harris has joined London-based video specialist Observatory with the goal of helping the company to further expand its global footprint. Assuming the role of director of production, Harris is well-known in the industry from previous roles he has held with Bryte Design, Green Hippo and, most recently, Avolites and brings extensive technical video project management and production experience to the position. He will work closely with Observatory founder and principal designer, Ben Sheppee.
“Simon brings a unique skill set that will strengthen and drive expansion for the business,” commented Sheppee. “We have been looking to provide our clients with better technical consultation and end-to-end solutions for our productions, as we continue to innovate with emerging technologies. New and existing clients can look forward to benefiting from Simon’s in-depth knowledge and vision of engaging large audiences. We are thrilled to add him to our team to help us grow Observatory’s business even further, building on our award-winning conceptual visual offering.”
Having worked in the industry for 14 years, Harris has been involved with shows such as Beyoncé’s Glastonbury Headline Performance, George Ezra’s 2018 European tour, EDC Las Vegas, Andy C’s Alive AllNight and sold-out 2019 Wembley show, Glastonbury’s John Peel stage and the T-Mobile Annual Conference in Manilla, among many others. “I have been both a client and friend to Observatory for many years, so now being part of the team has been a natural progression in my career,” said Harris. “I’m excited to now be contributing and furthering the success of such a progressive and creative company.”
