The MAS-A100 includes auto-noise reduction to minimise background noise from projectors or air conditioners
Sony has announced the launch of a new beamforming microphone, the MAS-A100. Designed for, but not limited to, a range of meeting, lecture and presentation environments, the ceiling-mount microphone reportedly offers clear audio quality features for both speech reinforcement and recording with a combination of beamforming technology and Intelligent Feedback Reducer function. The microphone has a dual-channel output for simultaneous recording for wide area to capture both the speaker and students’/participants’ voices. Supporting both Dante and PoE, the model includes auto-noise reduction to minimise background noise from projectors or air conditioners.
The manufacturer has also added a new set of picture monitors to its TriMaster range. The PVM-X2400 (24 inches) and the PVM-X1800 (18.4 inches) provide a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels and all-white luminance of 1,000cd/m2. Both monitors are said to offer accurate colour reproduction and precise greyscale, giving filmmakers “a reliable tool to help make critical imaging decisions and faithful colour matching throughout the workflow”. The monitors are aimed at expanding footprints in 4K HDR production, including on-set monitoring, non-linear video editing, studio wall monitoring and rack-mount monitoring of OB trucks or machine rooms.
Meanwhile, Sony has expanded its laser projector lineup with six new models. There are four WUXGA units – the VPL-FHZ131L (13,000 lumens), VPL-FHZ101L (10,000 lumens), VPL-FHZ91L (9,000 lumens) and VPL-PHZ12 (5,000 lumens) – plus the VPL-CWZ10 (WXGA) and VPL-CXZ10 (XGA), both portable models with a compact size. The VPL-FHZ131L, VPL-FHZ101L and VPL-FHZ91L are equipped with an Advanced Intelligent Setting function with additional Multiscreen Mode, which is said to optimise colour when projecting on multiple units. According to the manufacturer, their wide lens shift capability makes them suitable for difficult installation conditions, such as when a venue contains beams or piping or when the screen is lower than the projector. The VPL-CWZ10 and VPL-CXZ10 are approximately 40% smaller and 35% lighter than their predecessors, the VPL-PWZ10 and VPL-PXZ10.
In brief, Sony has launched TEOS 2.2, an update to its workspace management solution. It will feature 20 new functionalities and features, including customisable Smart Automation options, a new Meeting Display interface and Outlook integration.
