Barix offers a streaming solution in response to Covid-19

Amid the global Covid-19 pandemic in which gatherings around the world have been suspended, Barix has responded by quickly upgrading its Instreamer ICE Audio-over-IP encoder with a simple streaming service designed to be easy to install in houses of worship. The idea is that houses of worship will be able to install the solution without the need for a specialist integrator at a time in which streaming services to congregations gathered remotely is key.

The audio streaming service allows houses of worship to add a button totheir websites to stream services online. From the worship leader’s microphone to the listener’s browser, everyone will be able to hear the service remotely.

Barix states that houses of worship simply need to plug their microphone or audio console to the Instreamer ICE, which is connected to the internet. Via email, houses of worship then need to sign up for the free service to get a link, after which they can place a button on their website or share the link with congregants.

‘Such streaming services are usually paid month-by-month,’ said Manuel Merki, Barix's head of marketing. These are totally valuable services which offer a wide range of options. We usually have to charge something for the streaming to coverour expenses and this is usuallyUS$40 per month. But we decided to offer theInstreamer ICE with streaming included for the next six months tohelp the community to cope with the current situation. If you need more than a playing audio stream on your website - use the BarixInstreamer withthestreaming service of your choice. Barix devices are open to use with any other service.
