The AVN-AO16 is a 1U 19-inch rackmount device which can be set up via standard Dante Controller software

Sonifex has unveiled the AVN-AO16, an audio converter and interface that can handle up to 16 analogue outputs from the Dante audio-over-IP networked standard. The 1U 19-inch rackmount device reportedly provides a simple solution to AV professionals and systems integrators and is considered to be easy to operate and configure. It can be set up via standard Dante Controller software and power is via PoE.

The analogue outputs are on Neutrik XLR connectors and there are front panel status/confidence LEDs for PoE, Link and Clock. Unlike the AVN-AIO4 and the AVN-AIO8 with four and eight outputs, respectively, the AVN-AO16 includes 16 balanced analogue outputs on XLR as well as an RJ45 Dante connector. Configuration is via Dante Controller and the converter is compatible with AES67 and Dante Domain Manager. The output impedance is 50Ω balanced, the 0dBFS lineup is +18dBu balanced, the crosstalk is 100dB and the frequency response is 20Hz to 20kHz. The unit measures 48cm x 11cm x 4.3cm (WxDxH) and the net weight is 1.8kg.
