From sonic environments to a true Sound Democracy

AudioForum is a full day educational event organized by Connessioni, in cooperation with AES – Audio Engineering Society - supported ISE and sponsored by d&b audiotechnik and Genelec. It will take place at the RAI Amsterdam on Monday 10th 2020, from 10:00 to 5:00 p.m., on the ISE eve.

The main speakers will be: Damiano Meacci, Music Professor at G.B. Martini Conservatory in Bologna, Musician and Composer at Tempo Reale (Florence); Ben Kok, acoustics consultant and AES Member; Steve Barbar, AES Member and Presenter, E-Coustic Systems founder; Aki Mäkivirta, Head of R&D Genelec; Valeria Gazzola, Group Leader at Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience. Speeches will be moderated by Bert Kraijpoel, Secretary AES Dutch Section.

Attendance

The programme of AudioForum@ISE 2020 has been conceived to involve both professionals with technical training – sound designers, system integrators, sound engineers, specialists in acoustics, multimedia production specialists, etc. – who come from the field of architectural and ambient design – architects, consultants, engineers, etc. It will also be of interest to anyone involved in managing venues and facilities, such as hotel managers, administrators of schools, universities, public spaces and sporting or cultural facilities.

The event will focus on the following subject areas:

  • the relationship between the environment, conditions and listening quality
  • audio technologies and the perception of sound
  • environments, listening experiences and empathy
  • Democracy of Sound: putting the listener back in the centre
