The 102i provides up to 10 audio inputs and two audio outputs

TASCAM has unveiled its Series 102i audio/MIDI interface for guitarists, songwriters and owners of small studios, and its Series 208i audio/MIDI interface for professional studio and live recording. The 102i provides up to 10 audio inputs and two audio outputs and the 208i 20 audio inputs and eight audio outputs to a Mac or Windows computer or an iOS device, for recording and playback at up to 192kHz/24 bits. The USB interface is equipped with a DSP input and output mixer with built-in digital reverb, compressor, phase invert and four-band EQ for each channel with the aim of eliminating latency issues and taking the load off the computer to allow it to process the audio more efficiently. The analogue mic/line/instrument combo inputs are fitted with the manufacturer’s low-noise, ultra-HDDA mic preamps and individually switchable phantom power (+48V). The 102i also offers dual headphone outputs with dedicated level control and two balanced 6.3mm line outputs for versatile monitoring. The 208i includes eight balanced 6.3mm line outputs to enable multiple monitor mixes or up to 7.1 surround monitoring, and there are dual headphone outputs with dedicated level control.

Described as next-generation streamers, the VS-R264 and VS-R265 are 4K/HD video encoding, streaming, recording and decoding bidirectional devices that support HEVC/H.264 and H.264. They have a compact 1U size and can be rack-mounted or screwed under a desk. Features include live streaming via the internet, plus automatic FTP upload of recorded files to a network or cloud storage. The streamers support CDNs and online live platforms such as YouTube, Wowza, Ustream, AWS Elemental MediaLive and AWS CloudFront. The devices provide fully balanced audio I/O via Euroblock connectors, with configurable reference levels for compatibility with professional audio systems. Unbalanced 3.5mm stereo mini-jacks are also provided for compatibility with consumer devices. With power via PoE+ or external 12V DC and HDMI in/out with audio embedding and de-embedding, the devices support bidirectional AV operations, live online streaming and secure capture to SD/USB media for later uploading to a website.

Finally, the MX-8A is an 8x8 audio matrix mixer with embedded DSP. It provides eight mic/line inputs, eight line outputs and stereo USB I/O compatible with software/cloud-based conferencing platforms. DSP functions provide a compressor, four-band parametric EQ and auto level control for each input. The output section features a 10-band EQ, high/low pass filter delay and a limiter function per output. The MX-8A incorporates the manufacturer’s mic preamps, while the input range covers from –77.5dBu to +26dBu, with equivalent input noise achieving less than –126dB, and a signal-to-noise ratio of over 108dB.
