CrewCom adds Fiber Hub

The CHB-8F Fiber Hub allows up to eight connections using standard SFP-based ports

Pliant Technologies has unveiled new and enhanced firmware for its CrewCom wireless communications system that includes the new Fiber Hub. The CHB-8F Fiber Hub expands CrewCom capabilities by allowing up to eight connections using standard SFP-based ports along with a single copper port for interfacing with existing CrewNet connections. CrewCom is a wireless intercom solution designed to enable high user density, large range and scalability. The manufacturer also states that the system includes the ‘smallest, fully featured, professional, full-duplex wireless radio pack’, offering ‘excellent voice quality and multiple simultaneous frequency’. Furthermore, unlike a matrix-based architecture, CrewCom is based on a decentralised network platform that enables system resources to be delivered to where they are needed.

The system is built on a ‘highly scalable’ platform and comprises a family of devices to facilitate any size and type of application. The products that form the solution are available in 2.4GHz and 900MHz versions – the 900MHz versions are limited to use in areas where the band is legal. These frequency ranges can be used in any combination simultaneously on a single system.
