Richard Lawn and David Lasbukes of Avixa Richard Lawn and Tim Goodyer left their respective roles as sales director at Pro Sound News Europe and editor at Studio Sound magazines to launch the first edition of Pro Audio Asia magazine in June 2002. Having already spent a number of years visiting the region and developing relationships with manufacturers, distributors and users across APAC they strongly believed that those pro audio professionals deserved a quality independent and authoritative B2B title to assist them in growing their business. Pro Audio Asia's aim was simple – to provide up to date information with new global product launches, inspire them with a unique blend of news from the territory and impart expert business analysis with in-depth reports on the most topical events and projects.

Simon Luckhurst reporting from InfoComm Today that mantra still remains the bedrock to the company philosophy having successfully expanded to include four highly respected titles; Pro AVL Asia, Pro AVL MEA, Worship AVL and a Simplified Chinese edition. Together with the bi-monthly print editions, the company has invested in and developed a comprehensive digital platform to include multiple websites, social media portals and a dedicated video division. With staff numbers now totalling 15 and offices located throughout the world, the team remains committed to ensuring the highest levels of editorial quality and content. Crucially though – as it was so many years ago – our willingness to better understand and listen to our audience of readers and viewers remains the keystone of our business.
